At BillWallah Technologies, we process millions of bill payments and recharges every month. While we strive for 100% success on every transaction, we understand that technical issues can sometimes occur. This Refund Policy outlines the conditions under which you are entitled to a refund and the process to claim one.
This policy applies to all transactions made through the BillWallah mobile application, website (billwallah.com), and any associated BillWallah platforms.

When Are You Eligible for a Refund?
Refunds are assessed on a case-by-case basis. Below is a clear breakdown of eligible and non-eligible scenarios.

โ Amount deducted from your account but recharge/payment was not delivered
โ Duplicate transaction โ charged twice for the same payment
โ Transaction failed but money was debited and not auto-reversed within 3 business days
โ Recharge applied to a wrong number due to a verified technical error on BillWallah's end
โ Service provider rejected the transaction but amount was still deducted
โ Not Eligible for Refund
โ Recharge successfully delivered to the correct number/account
โ Wrong number or account entered by the user themselves
โ Dissatisfaction with a plan or service offered by the operator/provider
โ Cashback-related disputes (governed separately under our Cashback Policy)
โ Refund requests raised after 7 days of the transaction date

Which Transaction Types Are Covered?

Mobile Recharges Prepaid recharges for Airtel, Jio, Vi (Vodafone Idea), and BSNL. Eligible if recharge was not credited to the mobile number.

Electricity Bill Payments Payments to DISCOMs (MSEB, BESCOM, TPDDL, etc.). Eligible if payment was not reflected on the provider's portal within 3 business days.

DTH & Cable TV Recharges Tata Play, Dish TV, Airtel Xstream, Sun Direct. Eligible if recharge was not credited to the set-top box.

04 โ How to Request a Refund
Step-by-Step Refund Process
Follow these steps to raise a refund request. Please keep your transaction ID and payment screenshot handy before starting.

Raise a Support Request
Contact us within 7 days of the transaction via Email, WhatsApp, Call, or the in-app Help Centre. Mention your Transaction ID and the issue clearly.

Submit Required Documents
Share your Transaction ID, payment screenshot, and (if applicable) a screenshot showing the recharge was not received. Our team may request additional proof.

Verification by Our Team
Our support team will verify the transaction with the payment gateway and service provider. This typically takes 2โ3 business days.

Refund Initiated
Once approved, the refund is initiated to your original payment method. You will receive a confirmation via SMS and email.

05 โ Refund Method
How Will You Receive Your Refund?
All approved refunds are processed back to the original source of payment. We do not issue refunds in cash or via third-party payment links.

Important: In cases where the original payment method is no longer active (e.g., expired card or closed UPI ID), the refund may be processed to your BillWallah wallet or via NEFT to a verified bank account. Please contact our support team in such cases.
06 โ Auto-Reversal Policy
Automatic Refunds for Failed Transactions
For most failed transactions, our payment gateway (Zwitch/OpenMone) initiates an automatic reversal within 24โ72 hours. You do not need to raise a manual request if:

Payment Gateway Auto-Reversal If your bank or UPI app shows a debit but BillWallah shows "Transaction Failed", the amount is typically auto-reversed within 3 business days by your bank or payment gateway.

Check Your Bank First Before raising a refund request, please check your bank statement. Many reversals happen automatically and may not generate a separate notification.
If the amount is not reversed within 3 business days, please contact our support team immediately with your transaction details.
07 โ Cashback & Wallet Credits
Cashback Refund Rules
Cashback credited to your BillWallah wallet is non-refundable in cash. In the event that a transaction on which cashback was earned is subsequently refunded, the corresponding cashback amount will be deducted from your wallet balance at the time of refund processing.

Example: You recharge โน799 and receive โน55.93 cashback in your BillWallah wallet. If this recharge is later refunded, โน799 will be returned to your original payment method and โน55.93 will be deducted from your wallet.
08 โ Dispute Resolution
What If You Disagree With Our Decision?
If you are not satisfied with the outcome of your refund request, you may escalate the matter by emailing our Grievance Officer at support@billwallah.com with the subject line "Refund Escalation โ [Your Transaction ID]". We will review your case within 5 business days and provide a final resolution.
All disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Zunheboto, Nagaland, India, and shall be governed by the laws of India.

Updates to This Policy
BillWallah Technologies reserves the right to update this Refund Policy at any time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the BillWallah platform after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
